Malmö Leads the Table, Häcken and Hammarby Close Behind
The Swedish women’s league has entered its final third of the season, and Round 16 delivered thrilling matches that set the tone for the run-in. Malmö once again confirmed their dominance at home, Häcken kept the pressure on with a commanding victory, and Hammarby remain close behind the leaders. At the other end of the table, Alingsås and Linköping continue to struggle at the bottom.
Piteå IF lost at home to IFK Norrköping, who overturned an early deficit with quick goals from Jessica Wik and Wilma Leidhammar in the first half, winning 2-1.
Malmö FF 3 – 1 Växjö DFF
Malmö FF confirmed their top spot in the league with a convincing home win over Växjö DFF in front of 918 fans at Eleda Stadion. Sara Fornes scored twice in the first half, once in the 10th minute and again in stoppage time. In the second half, Mia Persson added another goal, while Larkin Russel scored the only goal for the visitors from the penalty spot. Malmö maintains their lead at the top of the table.
Kristianstads DFF 0 – 3 AIK
AIK secured a 3-0 win at Kristianstads DFF. Adelisa Grabus scored in the 8th minute, followed by goals from Nova Selin and Daniella Famili. Kristianstad fell further behind the top teams, while AIK strengthened their mid-table position.
Vittsjö GIK 0 – 4 BK Häcken
BK Häcken were equally impressive, defeating Vittsjö GIK 4-0 away. Monica Bah opened the scoring with goals in the 41st and 48th minutes, and Felicia Schröder added two more late in the game to seal the victory. Häcken remain close behind Malmö in the title race.

BP fell 1-2 at home to Djurgården. Ellen Toivio had given BP the lead in the 45th minute, but Tove Almqvist scored twice for Djurgården in the 78th and 85th minutes to secure the three points. Djurgården remain in fourth place, keeping their European hopes alive, while BP stays near the lower mid-table with 13 points.
Linköping FC 2 – 1 Alingsås IF
Linköping FC won 2-1 against Alingsås IF. After the visitors initially took the lead, María Ólafsdóttir Grós and Jonna Andersson scored for Linköping to secure crucial points in the battle to avoid relegation.
In the standings, Malmö FF remain top with 38 points, closely followed by BK Häcken just two points behind. Hammarby are level with Häcken, making the title race extremely tight. Djurgården hold fourth place, while the mid-table is packed with teams chasing higher positions. At the bottom, Alingsås and Linköping continue to search for vital survival points.
Among the top scorers, Felicia Schröder leads the way, averaging more than a goal per game. She is followed by Hammarby’s Ellen Wangerheim with 12 goals, while Malmö’s Sara Kanutte Fornes sits third with 10. Beata Olsson, Isabella D’Aquila, Julie Blakstad and Therese Åsland also remain in the race for the golden boot.
